An article back in February related how the Resource Discovery Network's (RDN) resource finder was an efficient way of finding quality assured learning resources. For example a 'canned' search such as http://www.rdn.ac.uk/resourcefinder/?query=diabetic+foot would take students of such things to the latest resources in the RDN . My February article also proposed that it would be quite useful if the results of such searches could be returned as RSS. Read on if you're interested in how this is now possible. Thanks are due to Andy Powell, of UKOLN who responded to my request. So if you want your RDN searches to be read by your RSS aggregator then adapt the following example queries:
Multiple terms query
http://www.rdn.ac.uk/resourcefinder/rss.cgi?query=learning+style
Phrase query
http://www.rdn.ac.uk/resourcefinder/rss.cgi?query=”learning+style”
I'll include a RDN canned search for 'learning objects' into the Auricle RSS Dispenser.
